Since he opened the restaurant, Hyun Pak, the current owner of Cast Iron Pot, has been pursuing his boyhood passion of working in the hospitality industry, namely in the food and beverage sector. He worked hard and put in a lot of hours to save up enough money to buy a small deli, which he eventually turned into a franchise with outlets all over New York City.

After relocating to New Jersey, he opened an upscale Korean BBQ establishment known as Zen Zen in the town of Fairview in the form of New Jersey. As a result of the fact that most Korean dining establishments are often located in regions with a large concentration of Korean inhabitants, many people were taken aback by the decision. Nevertheless, Zen was determined to maintain his position at the forefront of the fashion industry despite his success.
He decided to convert the restaurant into one that serves unlimited Korean barbecue intending to attract younger customers in light of the recent surge in popularity of K-pop and Korean traditional culture. His goal was to make the restaurant more appealing to younger diners.
